DSD shows its love for The Lincolnshire Show

Independent agricultural insurance broker, Dallas Scott Davey Ltd (DSD), backed the Lincolnshire Show for a third year – sponsoring the spectacular vehicle parade.

Based in the heart of Lincolnshire, DSD’s directors, Ed Davey and Darren Scott, have been in the insurance industry for nearly 50 years combined. Ed, who lives at Thornton Curtis in North Lincolnshire, is a partner in his family farm, where his ancestors have farmed since 1894.

This year DSD sponsored the highly anticipated ‘Roaring Twenties and Swinging Sixties’ vehicle parade, which took place each afternoon during the show in the main ring. 

Ed Davey said: “Spanning two decades, the display showcased a mix of vintage vehicles, including many that would have been seen on our family farm in the twenties and sixties.”

The event also included music and dance performances. Ed added “We were proud to support the parade and the show for another year. It was also great to see so many familiar faces and have a chance to catch up with our clients, as well as meet and talk to new potential customers about what they need from us and how we can help them. 

“Our UK farming industry is heading into turbulent times and DSD is ever more conscious of the challenges facing our farming clients and we are well-placed to help, when it comes to providing considered insurance and risk management advice and guidance to farmers.”

The Lincolnshire Show is a celebration of all that’s great about Lincolnshire.Now in its 139th year, the Lincolnshire Show is organised by the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society, a registered charity that aims to educate about food, farming and the environment. 

The Show welcomes over 60,000 visitors, 5,000 school children and 500 exhibitors each year. It is an action-packed day out for all the family offering an eclectic mix of shopping, farming, machinery lines, gardening and horticulture, countryside sports, live music, equine and livestock classes, children’s activities, local food and drinks, and breathtaking entertainment.
