TL Dallas Community Stand opens

The TL Dallas Community Stand at Bradford City AFC is now officially open!

The agreement will see the south stand at the University of Bradford Stadium – traditionally the ‘Bradford End’ and more recently the TL Dallas Stand – renamed the TL Dallas Community Stand ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.

The stand will house match goers from schools, local community groups and junior clubs who capitalise on the Foundation’s Community Ticket Scheme, which gives local organisations a chance to watch the Bantams at a discounted cost.

The scheme allows attendees from low-income backgrounds or typically non-sporting communities to attend games, removing barriers to attendance and making the club more accessible for all, while fostering a love for all things Bradford City in the next generation of Bantams.

The now-dedicated community stand will offer a unique matchday experience to fans young and old who may not typically attend matches or be unable to afford to do so.

The project is the culmination of the club and Community Foundation’s joint efforts to continuing to enhance the matchday experience at the University of Bradford Stadium, while generating an inclusive, accessible environment for all.

It will run alongside the all-new Bantams Clubhouse, located at BEAP Community Partnership at the foot of Valley Parade, on the corner of Midland Road and Cornwall Road. The Clubhouse acts as a dedicated junior fan zone, with sporting and non-sporting activities being held to engage families with children prior to each fixture.

The Foundation has also installed a new multi-faith and sensory room at its City Hub Cafe, in collaboration with Muslim Friendly Employers. The cafe and the room will be open before every City home league game during the upcoming season.

A now-iconic partnership in the club’s history, TL Dallas have been sponsors of the south stand at Valley Parade since its unveiling back in 2003, with the relationship being taken past the 20-year mark in 2022, when a new, significant three-year deal was agreed.

Mike Martin, TL Dallas Group Director said: “We are very excited to be part of this, and support the excellent work the Foundation does.

“Our business has been in Bradford for over 100 years, with a long-standing involvement with the club, and now this is an excellent step in providing inclusive access to City games.

“We are very proud to see the stand being used for a good cause and hope to see it filled with people following the Bantams this season!”

City’s Chief Commercial Officer, Davide Longo, said: “We are delighted to announce the opening of the TL Dallas Community Stand at the University of Bradford Stadium, ahead of our first home game of the 2024/25 season.

“This project, together with TL Dallas and our Community Foundation, represents our continued dedication to ensuring Bradford City is accessible for as many different people, from as many different backgrounds across the district, as possible.

“Community is a big part of what we do here, and it makes us proud to be launching initiatives such as this, together with valued and loyal commercial partners such as TL Dallas.

“Mike Martin and the TL Dallas team have been behind all areas of the club, including the academy and Community Foundation, for over 20 years, and this increased backing is testament to their commitment to continue supporting all things Bradford.

“We thank them, and our colleagues at the Community Foundation for their fantastic efforts in getting the TL Dallas Community Stand off the ground and cannot wait to see it make its debut against Salford this Saturday.”

Bradford City Community Foundation Director of Operations and Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Lizzie Saunderson-Trowell – who oversaw the establishment of the partnership – said: “As the charitable arm of the club, we are dedicated to using the power of the City badge to make a difference in our community.

“The community ticket scheme allows us to engage and build connections with members of our local community by including them in local sport. Now, thanks to our exciting partnership with TL Dallas and the opening of the TL Dallas Community Stand, we have further underlined our commitment to bringing the people of Bradford together on matchdays, fostering a love for the club and the game, and providing an inclusive and accessible space for those who may not typically visit Valley Parade.

“We at the Foundation look forward to building on our fantastic relationship with TL Dallas and the club, and would like to thank them for enabling us to continue to play our part in changing the lives of people in Bradford.”

The TL Dallas Community Stand will open its doors for the first time this weekend, when the Bantams take on Salford City (Saturday August 17, 3.00pm), in a game which will also see the official opening of the Community Foundation’s Bantams Clubhouse at BEAP Community Partnership.
