Nord Dallas is based in Kirkwall, Orkney and the team of 13 is headed up by Kevin Hancock, who has more than 29 years industry experience.

The operation in Kirkwall dates back to 1979, when Kevin’s father Robin Hancock, established Nord Insurance Services. The business was sold to Alastair Macleod Insurance in 1996 following Robin’s death.

Clark Thomson bought the business in 2001, and the firm grew significantly, aided by the purchase of other local insurance brokers including Orkney Insurance Services, Orkney Insurance & Financial Services and Ness Insurance Brokers. In 2018 Clark Thomson sold the business to Jelf, which later became part of Marsh Commercial. TL Dallas acquired the former Marsh Commercial office in 2024 as part of its expansion into the Highlands and Islands.

Many of the team have been with the business for more than 25 years and provide commercial insurance services to all sectors of the economy on the Islands, including agricultural, construction, motor trade and renewable energy – particularly wave and tidal.

Our personal insurance services include house insurance, car insurance, travel insurance and personal accident insurance. We work for several high net worth clients offering insurance policies that cover fine, art, jewellery, collectables, aircraft, watercraft and holiday homes.

With a local, friendly and highly efficient service, Nord Dallas is a highly respected insurance broker in Orkney.
